Dear Heartland High School Students and Families,
Welcome back to the 2024-2025 school year at Heartland High School! I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable summer break. I’m looking forward to seeing you all on Tuesday, August 27th! As we begin this new academic year, I am excited to continue our journey of building successful programs and providing enriching experiences for our students. We have several exciting updates and additions to share with you.
Michelle has been diligently working on developing new school-to-work and apprenticeship programs in collaboration with our community business partners. These programs are designed to provide valuable hands-on experience and career opportunities for our students outside of the classroom, preparing them for successful futures.
We have a new teacher at HHS. Jenn Stone joins us as our new Mathematics teacher. With her expertise and passion for teaching, we are confident that she will inspire and support our students in achieving their academic goals.
Becky is looking forward to a fantastic year with our new students. Her dedication to fostering positive and encouraging relationships with our HHS “crew” ensures that every student feels welcomed and supported.
Bianca has been working tirelessly to ensure students’ schedules are set, and she is making arrangements for a variety of exciting activities for our students and families. She is already planning special events and creating opportunities for students to get involved and make the most of their time at Heartland.
Additionally, Heartland High School will continue to collaborate with MDHS to offer elective classes for those students who are interested in taking additional classes that are not offered/available at HHS. This partnership allows our students to explore diverse subjects and pursue their interests beyond the core curriculum. Students, please notify the office if you are interested in taking an elective class at MDHS this fall.
I want to take a moment to emphasize the importance of attendance. Regular attendance is crucial for academic growth and success. Student absences, even when sporadic, can significantly impact learning and overall performance. It is essential that all students attend school every day and stay for their full day to maximize their opportunities for success. Being present in class not only helps students understand the material better but also fosters a sense of community and engagement.
Our commitment to working with each student to reach their graduation and post-school goals remains unwavering. We are here to support you every step of the way, providing the resources, guidance, and encouragement you need to succeed.

¡Bienvenidos de nuevo al año escolar 2024-2025 en Heartland High School! Espero que todos hayan tenido unas vacaciones de verano relajantes y agradables. ¡Espero verlos a todos el martes 27 de agosto! Al comenzar este nuevo año académico, estoy emocionada de continuar nuestro viaje de creación de programas exitosos y dar experiencias enriquecedoras para nuestros estudiantes. Tenemos varias actualizaciones y adiciones interesantes para compartir con usted.

Además, Heartland High School continuará colaborando con MDHS para ofrecer clases optativas para aquellos estudiantes que estén interesados en tomar clases adicionales que no se ofrecen o no están disponibles en HHS. Esta asociación permite a nuestros estudiantes explorar diversos temas y perseguir sus intereses más allá del plan de estudios básico. Estudiantes, notifiquen a la oficina si están interesados en tomar una clase optativa en MDHS este otoño.
Quiero tomarme un momento para enfatizar la importancia de la asistencia. La asistencia regular es crucial para el crecimiento y el éxito académico. Las ausencias de los estudiantes, incluso cuando son esporádicas, pueden afectar significativamente el aprendizaje y el desempeño general. Es esencial que todos los estudiantes asistan a la escuela todos los días y permanezcan el día completo para maximizar sus oportunidades de éxito. Estar presente en clase no sólo ayuda a los estudiantes a comprender mejor el material, sino que también fomenta un sentido de comunidad y compromiso.
Nuestro compromiso de trabajar con cada estudiante para alcanzar sus objetivos de graduación y post-escolar sigue siendo inquebrantable. Estamos aquí para apoyarlo en cada paso del camino, proporcionarlo los recursos, la orientación y el aliento que necesita para tener éxito.
Una vez más, bienvenidos al nuevo año escolar 2024-2025. Hagamos de este año uno de crecimiento, logros y experiencias memorables.
